She has everything at stake; he has everything to lose. But one of them is lying, all the same.
When an Oxford student accuses one of the university’s professors of sexual assault, DI Adam Fawley’s team think they’ve heard it all before. But they couldn’t be more wrong.
Because this time, the predator is a woman and the shining star of the department, and the student a six-foot male rugby player.
Soon DI Fawley and his team are up against the clock to figure out the truth. What they don’t realise is that someone is watching.
And they have a plan to put Fawley out of action for good…
This was good! Like my friend Jen said there was no easy way to review a thriller as you don’t want to giveaway the story but at the same time we want to shout and tell you just how amazing this book is!
I have no idea The Whole Truth is the 5th book in the DI Adam Fawley series but do be assured that each book can be read as a standalone. When I saw the synopsis I was so intrigued by it. A sexual assault rape case but this time the accuser was a six foot rugby player and the predator was his female professor. What exactly happened? When I saw this I was intrigued but also worried where this was going. To add to the mix there was also this convicted “roadside rapist” who was just being released from prison. What’s so clever about this story was that you never know where it was going! There were lots of tensions added by the deliberate use of modern technology such as podcasts, tweets, phone call recordings, graphics etc which I totally loved! It may look like a distractions that’s exactly what the author wanted to create and make you think and wonder WHATS GOING ON!
I read The Whole Truth after reading Anna Karenina and it was just the perfect read. It was fast paced, full of tensions and mysterious ; it was creepy and unsettling. I really enjoyed it. If you love a thriller or crime fiction, then I definitely recommend it!
Thank you so much Viking Book for gifting me this copy to review!
