Synopsis:

My Review:
You see, after reading War and Peace, I needed something completely different to get myself out of a serious book hangover. I thought a sexy contemporary would do! Insatiable by Daisy Buchanan turned out to be so much more than what I expected.
On surface it is a story about a young girl Violet, who has a shitty job, a shitty ex-boyfriend and shitty parents; who is constantly horny and has all kinds of explosive sexual fantasies. She has completely lost her way and just doesn’t know how to change her life for the better. Then the dazzling sexy couple Lottie and Simon appear, who embrace Violet like their own and introduce her to all kinds of wild sex parties. But is this what life means? Is this what Violet want?
When you read this book, you would know this is much more than a horny girl trying to find herself. This is about manipulation, about toxic relationships, about self-destructions. It is about youth and about how we’ve all done stupid things to “find ourselves”. It is about looking for love and trying to belong. It is about trying to find your place in this big wild world.
One of the things I love most about this book is how Daisy wrote about female sexual desires and how unapologetically went in full details of Violet’s sexual fantasy. I found it very refreshing and also empowering in a way. It is ok to have desire and it is ok to know exactly what you want from sex.
I think Insatiable is excellent and what’s more it is so funny too! There were so many times I actually laughed out loud! It is such a clever book which handles so many important topics perfectly. It is filthy, funny, infuriating and moving. I have thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you so much Sphere for this copy!
