Synopsis:
January is a hopeless romantic who narrates her life like she’s the lead in a blockbuster movie.
Gus is a serious literary type who thinks true love is a fairy-tale.
But January and Gus have more in common than you’d think:
They’re both broke.
They’ve got crippling writer’s block.
And they need to write bestsellers before summer ends.
The result? A bet to swap genres see who gets published first.
The risk? In telling each other’s stories, their worlds might be changed entirely…
Set over one sizzling summer, Beach Read is a witty love story that will make you laugh as much as cry, for fans of The Flat Share and Our Stop.
My Review:
You ask, why am I wearing a beach hat, in my summer dress but sitting on my bed in my bedroom? Well, because of this book! Beach Read has totally given me the fuzzy summer feels. I so wish I was on a beach right now, but I couldn’t and it was actually pouring outside when I took this pic, so here you go! Pretend that I am sitting on a beach somewhere enjoying the sunshine and reading this fabulous book!
I don’t think I need to say more to convince you to read this book because everyone I know who has read it has ended up loving it. This is the perfect romantic comedy we need right now. It is just so charming. The characters are so loveable, the banters are hilarious, and the romance is just so sweet and eeek, gives me all the giddy feels! I love January and Gus as a couple. They just work! I don’t like romance to have too much angst, so this is just the perfect story with the right amount of difficulties shall we say to balance out the story.
It is sweet, charming, funny and so heart warming. I really enjoyed it! If you are looking for a rom com to read right now, this is the one! Thank you so much Viking Books for this beautiful copy to review!
