Review – The Things I Know by Amanda Prowse

Today is my stop on the blog tour for The Things I know by Amanda Peowse. A book that has charmed its way into my heart!

Thomasina ‘Hitch’ Waycott loves living and working on the remote family farm and B&B. But she also wants more. To see the world. To own her own home. To fall madly in love.

But those are fairy tales, and if her life is a fairy tale, then she’s the ugly duckling. Her deformed lip, her crooked limbs and her weak heart have kept her from taking chances. But that’s about to change.

When Grayson Potts comes to stay, he’s unlike anyone Thomasina has ever met. He’s aloof, eccentric and exceptionally kind. He’s also totally unconcerned with the physical flaws that have always defined Thomasina.

The two form a bond that neither has had before. It’s possible that it could become something more, but Thomasina also wonders if it’s too good to be true. By putting her heart on the line, Thomasina may open herself to heartbreak. But she may also open herself to so much more.

My Review:

“The Things I Know is dedicated to all the people like me, who throughout their life have always felt that they didn’t quite fit. For all those who believe that happy ever after is something that happens to other people. To all of you I would say. ‘It only takes one person to show you the magic, and when it happens, you’ll know it was worth the wait.”

I pretty much fell in love with this book from the dedication alone. This dedication has set the tone for the entire book which I absolutely loved!

Have I mentioned that I am a romantic at heart? I love everything about this story! The main character Thomasina ‘Hitch’ Waycott was born a bit differently; a deform lip and a crooked limb, all she ever wanted was to get out of their family farm and experience the world; all she ever wanted was to love someone and has someone love her back unconditionally. And here we were introduced the other main character Grayson Potts. Love blossomed between them despite the physical appearances. I couldn’t get enough of this book!

Amanda Prowse has created such lovable characters that I don’t want this story to ever end! It is such a heart warming and endearing read. Thomasina, what a lovely and delightful character. Despite the physical difficulties, she has maintained a pure and spirited heart. At times I feel injustice for Thomasina for everything she has endured. These will for sure pull at your heartstring. I just love her to bits. I wish the best for her and I am rooting for her the whole way through. Grayson is the perfect man and other half for her (and I am secretly in love with Grayson myself too!).

I love Amanda Prowse’s writing and the way the story is told. She has effortlessly created these charming characters and brought them to life. These characters and their stories have charmed their way into my heart. I really enjoyed this book!
