The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley

5 out of 5 stars!

When Eva’s film star sister Katrina dies, she leaves California and returns to Cornwall, where they spent their childhood summers, to scatter Katrina’s ashes and in doing so return her to the place where she belongs. But Eva must also confront the ghosts from her own past, as well as those from a time long before her own. For the house where she so often stayed as a child is home not only to her old friends the Halletts, but also to the people who had lived there in the eighteenth century. When Eva finally accepts that she is able to slip between centuries and see and talk to the inhabitants from hundreds of years ago, she soon finds herself falling for Daniel Butler, a man who lived – and died – long before she herself was born. Eva begins to question her place in the present, and in laying her sister to rest, comes to realise that she too must decide where she really belongs, choosing between the life she knows and the past she feels so drawn towards.

My Review:

Wonderful, simply wonderful. I have no words. I am stunned by the beauty of this book and the way it is written. It honestly is so lyrical and so deeply romantic. I finished The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley today and this is SO GOOD!🤩👍🏼😱😭🌹Honestly it makes me feel so good to read a great book and I have started to wonder why I wasted my time and money on some of the books that are on the market right now that are just so bad, so predictable, so cliche… honestly it is so refreshing to read The Rose Garden and be surprised by the simplest things like a first touch and a first kiss.

This is about a girl from our present time who discovers that she has the ability to travel back in time to the 1700. And when she first got transported back to 1700 she fell in the arms of the handsome and charming but also the most respected gentleman Daniel Butler, the owner of Trelowarth estate in 1700. Well the rest is the story😉

Honestly I highly highly recommended if you are looking for a well paced, well written, very very romantic slow burn historical fiction and romance❤️❤️❤️
